Auto Repair Contract Template
Our automobiles are expensive items that we generally own for many years. Automobiles are equipped with highly sophisticated computers that usually require a professional’s assistance to repair. As that professional, you will want to clearly define what you will do for that individual in way of auto repair.
- Be honest and forthcoming with services and labor. A good reputation will help you much better in the long run.
- Clearly explain the vehicle issue and how you will be able to fix it. Many folks are not knowledgeable in auto repair. Any repair can be frustrating. You are the expert; help them understand the issue.
- Discuss with your customer whether any parts needed will be new, re-manufactured/rebuilt/ reconditioned, or salvaged parts.
- At the completion of services, always provide a repair order which outlines each repair, parts supplied, cost of each part, labor charges and the vehicle’s odometer reading when brought in as well as when the repair was completed.
The contract contemplates an Attachment “A” which can be a document from you (either written or typed) which can detail more specifically the work to be done to an individual’s vehicle. This attachment should not only provide the detail for the work being done, but should also provide an estimate of time and expense. You should provide a clear outline of the services being provided, by whom, and how.
If may be helpful to know if an individual has tried to repair the vehicle himself/herself or if another auto repair has tried to fix it. There could be underlying issues and this may assist in knowing what you’re getting into.
Always specify the year, make, and model of the car or truck being repaired, the estimated repair cost, and where the repair facility is located. If you’re using after market parts, it’s best to specify if they’re potentially used in repairs, if you charge for towing, etc. The more transparency you offer, the greater confidence you’ll inspire with customers and encourage more repeat business.

a. Start and End Dates. The Services shall begin when the Customer delivers his automobile to the Company for the performance of the Services. In such case, the Company shall make the Customer’s property available upon request.
